Arthur Szyk
1894 ~ 1951

Most famous for his war time illustrations and caricatures he was a
fervent anti-Nazi who Eleanor Roosevelt said of "This is a personal
war of Szyk against Hitler, and I do not think Szyk will loose this
war!" Hitler actually put a price on his head! A great man!

one of Szyk's later works

Anderson's Fairy Tales
Published by Grosset & Dunlap ~ 1945

We had this book, (along with Grimm's Fairy Tales) in a slip case, probably from the Book Club ever since I can remember. Powerful memories, Mr. Door Tree!
