WAR COMICS
49 issues ~ Dec/1950-Sept/1957
One of the Atlas titles that transitioned from pre-code to code
Not as eloquent as Kurtzman's EC war titles but the pre-code
Atlas war titles are the grittiest comics ever produced!
They remind me of Sam Fuller's two 1951 war films
Steel Helmet and Fixed Bayonets...and vice versa

Stephen Riley

Unless you collected pulp fanzines from the 1970's you probably
aren't familiar with Steve's art. Steve was an incredibly gifted artist
who was just beginning to break into the pro-magazines and had
also begun an apprenticeship with a master etcher when
his life was tragically cut short.
It's hard to believe it's been over 25 years since he's been gone!
A great friend who will always be missed

3 of Steve's etchings

An incredible series of portraits done towards the end of his life!

Several mainstream illustrations
