It's hard to believe that it has been almost 40 years since this appeared. Great satire on the whole silly super hero genre. I never could stand them...

Great post! You just don't get too many chances to see this kind of stuff.

Thanks!

Brad Caslor's popularity is up 214% at the imdb, probably because of people like me who saw this post and wondered what happened to him (he storyboarded and directed TV) and put his name in a search engine.

I remember this in the RBCC...knocked me out with its polish, for fan art, and I wondered why he didn't go pro into comics.

Sly story, too.

The acknowledged swipes are masterful in their way.

Wonder if it was a senior project for school.

If you get a chance check out Brad's Oscar nominated cartoon "Get a Job". It's hilarious.
He also did many mini-comics with his characters "Duck and Mattress".

I've wanted to reprint this for a long time (I was working for RBCC & G.B. Love when this was published) but I think this should be up to Brad. I don't think he ever did a followup because of teh bizarre way he was cheated out of his original art by Bruce Hamilton. A friend of Brad's asked Bruce if he'd sell the art for him if he gave it to Bruce. Bruce sold the art and claimed he didn't have to pay for it because Brad's friend "gave it" to him. It was very strange.

Foreshadowing the future trend of Watchmen and other kill-the-supers comics. Marvelous fun!!
