I have this book, and it's one of my favorite sf anthologies precisely because of the fantastic artwork.
I bought it at the 2006 Worldcon in Anaheim, CA. David Kyle -- who started Gnome and who wrote the story accompanying these pictures -- was also there. Sadly, by the time I bought the book, he was nowhere to be found and I couldn't get his signature. One of my dumber mistakes as a fan and a collector!
Gorgeous!!Actually, I HAD seen the one called beetleback earlier, the moment I saw it recognition triggered in my brain, but I'm uncapable of remembering wheo or where. Is it me, or many of this designs have an (unconcious?) genital look?
