these are beautiful. i wanted to write to say how much i enjoy looking at this blog -- i have always loved fantasy illustration and it has been a real treat to pour over these posts.
This is my avourite book. The only copy I have ever found, unfortunately, belongs to my local library.
I have borrowed it about fifty times so far.

Yup, Wrightson swiped the entire street from Chalden's illustration...I've compared and commented on this in an earlier post!
