Jerry Grandenetti
1926 ~ 2010
Several weeks ago I learned of the passing of Jerry Grandenetti earlier
this year...along with Kubert and Heath, Jerry's work began my interest
in art and his was among the earliest that I learned to identify!
In the early 90's I began a correspondence with him and in 1995 I
visited him at his home on Long Island...I'll never forget it!
Thanks for everything Jerry!
Some of his best DC war covers ~ 1955-1963

A great example of one of Jerry's early ink-wash artworks!

Great, great post. I love the ink-wash effect as well - some of Corbin's wash effects in some Eerie color inserts are etched in my memory.
Just incredible as usual...
That one bomber cockpit cover for Star Spangled War Stories, "The Hot Box", reminds me of Rand Holmes' Harold Hedd #2, "The Anus-Clenching Adventures of Harold Hedd", where he flies a war-surplus Lancaster bomber filled with super-grade pot into the States.
