METROPOLIS
Fritz Lang's 1927 Masterpiece
Tonight at 8 PM(EST) Turner Classic Movies is playing
the television premiere of the newly restored version of
METROPOLIS starring Rudolph Klein-Rogge and
the incredibly beautiful Brigitte Helm!
Though still incomplete (originally released at 204 minutes)
this print runs 147 minutes incorporating 25 minutes of
film that hasn't been seen in over 80 years!
I have been looking forward to this for a long time!
Following the film, TCM is premiering the documentary on the restoration of METROPOLIS...if that isn't enough
it's followed by two other incredible films by Fritz Lang
SPIONE (1928) and M (1931)
It doesn't get any better than this!

I missed hearing about this completely, but now that I've seen this great post I now will purchase the new movie on DVD when it comes out on Nov.16. Very exciting.
I enjoyed the film all over again, and I thought the newly recovered footage filled in some important story. Your stills are amazing!
