Great stuff. Looking at some of Al Williamson's later works (and by that I mean his inks over his own pencils) I think his absolute mastery of gestural drawing is the thing I miss most in modern comics. Too many artists know where every single muscle is and have their photo ref for faces (myself included) but finding that pose that is dynamic but also feels real at the same time and not stiff at all seems to be beyond almost everyone these days. HE would, of course, shoot photo ref but he understood weight placement and what contortions the human body was actually capable of so he could push far beyond the source material and still get away with everyone believing the image! This is, in my opinion, almost a lost art.
