I'm a bit surprised by the date on the Bryant Zero story. The 3×3 page layouts (with merciful absence of a huge initial splash page) and the bordering between the captions and images would already have been out-of-fashion. The figure of the lower right corner of 4:1 shows that it was hardly because Bryant were unable to think outside of the box.

I have scans of this Zero Ghost Detective story that are a bit better, if you'd like( minus all the pencil-work on the damsel's dress. )
