Now is as good a time as any to thank you for all the hard work you put into this blog. I point my friends in your direction all the time. Also, is that a Boris Karloff death mask?
Beautiful shelving. I envy it. My loot is stacked in this closet and that nook. It threatens to become alive and begin lumbering about the place.
And let me chime in with thanks for the beautiful scans which show up here regularly. I've learned a lot from this blog and seen some things I never thought I'd get the chance to see.
I wanna live there :) Seriously though, all the work you've been putting into this blog is incredible, thank you very much for allowing us all to enjoy all of this fantastic artwork :)
Yes. Thank you for collecting and sharing all of this wonderful work. The fact that there is something new and interesting on this site every day is pretty amazing.
N.Kazantzakis in "Alexis Zorbas" says there are three kinds of men depends on how they their money. You sir, belong in the best kind the one that turn the money into something higher, spiritual, beautiful and for that you deserve our respect.
Yes Many thanks from me too, GACBS is a great Blog. Looks like that's a Boris death mask. I always wondered where and how you stored all your amazing collection. What a wonderful room you have and with a cosy fire roaring too. You have inspired me to get my stuff organised better.
Looks about perfect. Wish I had such a consolidated space, but my collections, by necessity are scattered throughout the abode, and a given piece is often not where I think it is. :-). Thanks for all the hard work on the blog, I know what it takes.
So that's where all your awesome posts come from...! Wow! Amazing collection, and thanks so much for all the work you do to share with us. I noticed you said ONE of the archive rooms...I'd be willing to bet that this might just be the tip of the ice-berg. Thanks so much!
Ah, Mr. Door Tree! One of my favorite blogs. I especially love stuff like Sidney Sime, Rackham, Howard Pyle, etc. Thanks for all your efforts - and a peek into your inner sanctum where the magic happens!
Mr. Door Tree. It's great fun zooming in on these fab pics nosing around your sanctum. Couple of questions if I may, you say this is just ONE reorganised archive room, how much more stuff do you have? and how do you know what you have posted, is there a ledger?
There are four more rooms loaded to the max, plus spillover into others! That is a life-mask of Karloff...the image on the TV is by Frank R. Paul from a film we made in the late 1990's titled Images of Science Fiction and Futurism that runs just over one hour! Thanks for all the words of encouragement!
wow what a totally awesome place Mr Tree, i would ike to visit some day and pet Jimmy Facehugger!! nice to see you watching Images of Science Fiction and Futurism too, it is a hella coool moooovie!
I would love it if you explained your scanning process a bit. I'm always afraid to snap the binding of older books when I flatten them out to scan. With all of your experience have you learned any tricks?
Thank you very much for all of the work you've put into this blog which has become required daily viewing for me. Your blog is both educational and inspirational for me. Thanks again for your efforts.
As to scanning fragile books/magazines/documents...all I can say is take your time and be very careful...always keep in mind that certain items are impossible to scan without inflicting grave damage and you are better off not attempting to!
A wonderful blog, a cabinet of wonders for lucky us. When I was a lad back in the Sixties a friend and I went to Mr Ackerman's house in West LA, and your room evokes that experience. On the downside, the smell of pulp was so strong I got ill (as I drove my friend and I on my Honda 50 back to South Pasadena, barely made it, actually), not a problem w/the Tree House. Thank you...
Hi, Mr Tree, First of all let me congratulate on this splendid site. I've been reading it for a long time and it never fails to amaze me. You certainly do a hard and very useful work. I would like to ask something. Don't you happen to have Greg Bear's Dinosaur Summer illustrated by Tony DiTerlizzi? In the near future I'm planning to write a review about that in my blog, but I don't have the illustrations. If you could help me out, of course your name would be credited. Thank you, Péter Kollárik
A room. A whole room with a fireplace, a large desk, and a television for an archives room. That settles matters. I hate you. Yes, I am a small and petty man.

Wonderful look at the den of a true collector. Thank you!
Thanks for the up close and personal. My collection is large but not even close to yours...Gary
That is a really impressive collection. I'm envious.

Man, that is AMAAAAAAAZING!
Better than the cyclops' treasure trove in the 7th Voyage of Sinbad!
Your blog is awesome.
Great sneak peek at "The Source!" Thanks for sharing with us, Door Tree. Love that raging fire.
And much like the first poster stated, I point folks to the Golden Age Comic Book Stories blog all the time!

What's on the television?
Thanks for posting these photos and everything else on this blog.
I am constantly telling people to take a look at this site, it's a great resource for artists and admirers.

As Mr. Karloff himself used to say in praise of his fellow actors, "full marks" for a blog well done.
